ANNOUNCING OUR NEW SERVICE AND VENUE

     THE CHAPEL ON WALNUT

Southern Victorian Traditions in Gilded Age Style

The historic home of His honor, Mayor Silas Alexander Sharpe has stood as a silent witness to the changing fortunes of Statesville, North Carolina since 1866. Originally the home of the City's first mayor, it reflects the hopes and hard work of a post-Civil war generation committed to rebuilding their community as a thriving center for trade while never losing touch with a tradition of gracious Southern hospitality

Today, thanks to the forethought and generosity of his descendants, this grand reminder of a genteel past is open again. The Silas Alexander Sharpe Foundation is proud to welcome you to a place where the future meets the past. We invite you to take a few minutes to explore our history, programs and events. And we hope you will visit us soon.

The house is open for tour groups by special appointment only:  Admission is $5.00 with children under 12 free.

*** Hours are subject to change to accommodate private events. We recommend calling ahead before you visit us.
